Capital One announced today that its “Match My Miles” Challenge for new applicants of its Venture Rewards credit card has ended early.
The Match My Miles Challenge was originally slated to run through May 13, 2011, but Capital One announced today that the one billion mile mark was attained in just 25 days. With the one billion mark reached, the challenge is over.
Capital One originally billed the challenge as a first-come, first-served promotion and stated that the challenge could end early if one billion miles were matched prior to May 13. That statement turned out to be more of a prediction.
The limited-time promotion allowed new applicants for the credit card the opportunity to receive up to a combined 110,000 miles in matched miles and bonus miles. Those who were approved could submit proof of existing miles with another airline mile credit card and get those miles matched – up to 100,000 miles total. In addition, new cardholders were eligible to receive 10,000 bonus miles on top of the matched miles if $1,000 was spent in the first 3 months.
According to the recently-updated Capital One site dedicated to this card, “the challenge is over” but applicants can “still get 10,000 bonus miles.”
